The surroundings of Lessona

for its high-quality wines, especially Lessona DOC, an elegant

red wine with a rich history. In the village and surrounding area,

For nature lovers and adventure seekers, Lessona is ideally

located near Oasi Zegna, a beautiful Alpine nature reserve and

recreational area known for its spectacular hiking and mountain

biking trails, panoramic views, and outdoor activities for all

ages.

In Lessona itself, you will find a cosy café, an ice cream parlour,

and two takeaway pizzerias – perfect for a quick bite or a

relaxing moment in the village. For a wider range of shops,

several supermarkets, restaurants, ice cream parlours, and

other amenities, you can visit nearby Cossato, just a few

kilometres away.

In addition, the charming villages of Masserano and Candelo are

located nearby. Masserano is known for its medieval charm and

beautiful castles, while Candelo is famous for its picturesque

atmosphere, historic centre, and inviting village square.

Lessona also enjoys a strategic location: within a short drive,

you can reach larger cities such as Biella, Vercelli, and even

Turin, where culture, art, and shopping come together.

Day trips from Lessona

Lago di Viverone Lake Viverone is located about 20–25 km (± 30 minutes) from Lessona. It is a medium-sized lake surrounded by hills, with beaches, clear water, and plenty of opportunities for swimming, sailing, kayaking, hiking, and cycling. There are also nice bars and restaurants. The lake is known for its UNESCO pile-dwelling sites and as a rich birdwatching area. Perfect for an active yet relaxing day trip. Shopping Gli Orsi (Biella, approx. 10 km from Lessona) is a large indoor shopping centre with fashion stores, electronics, restaurants, and a cinema — ideal for a rainy day or an afternoon of shopping. Vicolungo The Style Outlets (Vicolungo, approx. 30 km from Lessona) is an open-air outlet village with more than 150 brand stores, often offering significant discounts, as well as cafés and play areas — perfect for a day of affordable brand shopping. Lago d’Orta Lake Orta is located about 45 km / 50 minutes from Lessona and is a peaceful, romantic lake with medieval villages such as Orta San Giulio and the monastery island Isola San Giulio. You can swim at various beaches (including Gozzano, Pella, and Omegna), enjoy the clear water, go hiking in nature, or go boating and kayaking. Perfect for a relaxing day trip. Swimmingpool Primavera Lessona The Centro Primavera swimming pool in Lessona is located just a few meters away and features a large outdoor pool with a slide, a beach volleyball court, sun loungers, and parasols. Hiking day trip Oasi Zegna

Sentiero Natura. Start your day with a walk along the Sentiero

Natura in Oasi Zegna (approx. 20 km away). This trail of about 7

km is ideal for a relaxed hike through forests and past beautiful

viewpoints. Bring a picnic or enjoy lunch in a mountain hut.

Combine it with a visit to the summer toboggan run in

Bielmonte for extra fun.

Mountainbike Lessona – Bielmonte Loop

Cycle the challenging mountain bike route of approx. 25 km

starting in Lessona and leading through hills and forested areas

to Bielmonte. Here you can take a break or enjoy a ride on the

summer toboggan run. The route is varied and suitable for

experienced riders.

Cultural day trip to Biella and the Santuario di Oropa

Spend a day in Biella (approx. 15 km) visiting the historic centre

and the brewery museum. Be sure to also take a trip to the

Santuario di Oropa, an impressive Baroque pilgrimage site high

in the mountains, about 20 km from Lessona. It offers not only

cultural and religious attractions, but also beautiful hiking

opportunities and breathtaking views.

Exploring the Valle Cervo

The Valle Cervo, near Biella, is a beautiful mountain valley with

clear, gently flowing streams winding through the landscape.

The valley is known for its unspoiled nature, picturesque

villages, and peaceful walking routes along the rivers.

Water sports on the Sesia River and Lake Orta

The nearby Sesia River is a popular destination for water sports

enthusiasts, offering opportunities for rafting, kayaking, and

white-water activities. Combine this with relaxation and

swimming at Lake Orta (approx. 45 km), where you can also go

boating and have a picnic.

Veglio, bungeejumping en advonturepark,zipline Veglio is located in the Valle di Mosso, about 20 km (± 30 minutes) from Lessona. The village is known for Parco Avventura Veglio, an adventure park with climbing routes and zip lines for all ages, and for the Ponte Colossus, where you can bungee jump from a height of 152 metres – the first permanent bungee centre in Italy. Ideal for a day full of adrenaline in nature.Recently, a zipline between two mountains has also been added.

Riserva Naturale delle Baragge

Explore this nature reserve (approx. 15 km away) with a hike

through heathlands and forests. Bring binoculars for

birdwatching and enjoy the peace and quiet of this unique area.

There are several routes ranging from 5 to 10 km.

Candelo Masserano

Combine a visit to the small village of Candelo (7 km) with its

historic centre, followed by a walk and lunch in Masserano (10

km). Both villages exude an authentic Piedmont atmosphere.

Bielmonte Bielmonte is located about 25–35 km (30–40 minutes) from Lessona and offers skiing, cross-country skiing, night skiing, snowshoe hiking, and tobogganing on the Rolba Run in winter. In summer, you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, tobogganing, and children’s activities. The area also hosts outdoor festivals with sports, nature, and music, and offers stunning panoramic views over the Alps and the Po Valley.

Lago Maggiore

Take a day trip to Lake Maggiore (approx. 60 km). Enjoy a boat

trip on the lake, visit picturesque villages such as Stresa, and

admire the beautiful villas and gardens along the waterfront.

Ski tour or snowshoe hike in Oasi Zegna (winter)

In the winter season, you can enjoy skiing on the slopes of Oasi

Zegna or join a guided snowshoe hike through the peaceful

winter landscape. End the day with a hot chocolate in a

mountain hut.

Karten The nearest karting track from Lessona is Le Sirene in Cavaglià (approx. 25–30 km, 30–35 minutes by car) offers a classic outdoor circuit. For a larger and longer track, you can go to Kart Planet Piemonte in Busca (approx. 80–90 km, 1h15 by car).
